Her One and Only by Becky Wade

 Her One And Only
 Author - Becky Wade
 Rating - 5 out of 5 Stars

 Would I Recommend: Yes!!

Back Cover...

Gray Fowler, star NFL tight end, is being pursued by a stalker, so his team hires a protection agency to keep Gray under the watch of a bodyguard at all times. When Gray meets Dru Porter, an agent assigned to him, he's indignant. How can an attractive young female half his size possibly protect him?

But Dru's a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt. She's also ferociously determined to uncover the identity of Gray's stalker. And she's just as determined to avoid any kind of romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past. But the closer they get to finding the stalker, the closer they grow to each other. As the danger rises, can Dru and Gray entrust their hearts--and their lives--to one another?

What I Loved...

I have waited a long time to read Dru's story. It was absolutely worth the wait. She comes a very close second to being my favorite Porter sibling. Ty Porter still reigns supreme, but I absolutely loved Dru. Spunky, funny, tough and loving.

Gray Fowler is a great hero. He is a mix of what makes a hero so swoon worthy. Wounded, flirty, tough, smart and funny.

I don't often love both the hero and the heroine but this is one of the rare times I do.They were a fun couple to read.

And Ty Porter makes several appearances...Swoon!

What I Liked...

The Porters were in full force for Dru's story and I loved reading how their stories have continued. Meg and Bo have a secondary storyline. It was nice reading about them.

Her One and Only isn't your typical romance. Wade added a little mystery that kept me guessing until the end.

Not to worry however, there are plenty of swoon worthy and juicy bits for the romantics.

Other...

The cover is playfully cute. I sort of pictured Dru that way. It ties in nicely with the story.

Her One and Only is standalone and doesn't require you to read the others in the series. However, I recommend reading Undeniably Yours before reading this one. It will add to the experience.

I definitely recommend this book for any one who loves, Romance, Contemporary Christian Fiction, or even a little intrigue.

The man intended for Nicole DeLeĆ³n will come along when she is good and ready and not a minute sooner, no matter how desperately the older women of her church try to find her a match. She simply does not have the time to date with Nursing courses, her best friend's wedding, work and volunteering at church. If and when she finds the time to find love, it will be with a man in love with Jesus and most certainly not the flirty best man that makes her heart do funny things.

Drew Wells is adamant that falling in love is a waste of time, as is organized religion. As long as he has a say, neither are in his future and the closest he will ever get to either is being the best man at his cousin's wedding and spending a week with the bible thumping bridal party. The beautiful brunette bridesmaid is fun to flirt with but she will most certainly not make him want to think about settling down or worse, become a holy-roller.

Can either stop their hearts from betraying their minds?

Like Never Before by Melissa Tagg

 Like Never Before
 Author - Melissa Tagg
 Rating - 4.25 out of 5 Stars
 Would I Recommend: Yep

Back Cover...

Maple Valley became Amelia Bentley's haven after her heart and her dreams of a family were shattered. But her new life as a newspaper editor is shaken when the small-town paper is in danger of closing. Her one hope: A lead on an intriguing story that just might impress the new publisher...if only she knew who he was.

After his biggest campaign success yet, widowed speechwriter Logan Walker now has the chance of a lifetime--a spot on a presidential campaign. But his plans are interrupted when he finds out he's inherited his hometown newspaper. He travels home intent on selling the paper and spending some much-needed time with his young daughter before making the leap into national politics.

But instead of a quick sale and peaceful break from his hectic career, Logan finds himself helping Amelia chase her story. She's scrappy, but wounded. He's dependable, but lost. They may butt heads more than expected, but a series of leads on Maple Valley's quirky unsolved mystery is just the start of the sparks that fly in the office and in their hearts.

What I Loved...

Two words. Logan Walker. But I suppose you want to know what makes Logan so lovable. Logan Walker, the hero of Like Never Before, it all too wonderful. Melissa Tagg did a wonderful job with this character. He is a single dad that LOVES his daughter. He's smart (like almost nerdy smart which I love) and caring. He is character yumminess wrapped up ready to devour.

There is a portion of the book that takes place in a library, which I more often times than not just love. This was definitely one of those times where I loved it.

When a Christian Fiction novel incorporates lots of romance, humor and history, I am already half way in love.

What I Liked...

There was a lot going on in Like Never Before that added to the overall story. I had a deeper appreciation for the story and characters due to Tagg showing depth with all of the characters, from Logan to the non-essential hotel clerk.

Amelia, the heroine, had her issues going on but overall she was a character that grew on me more and more as I read the book. It was nice to see her character mature without changing her personality.

The family dynamic of the Walker Family was endearing and this series will be one that be bittersweet when it wraps because Melissa does such a good job making you feel like you are a part of Team Walker. I felt like I was in the noisy Walker kitchen waiting for one of Logan's special omelets.

Other...

Like the cover. Not how I pictured Logan but did picture Amelia very similar to the cover model.

The novel started out slow for me, but I am so glad that I pushed through. This is a really good read and I really and truly recommend it!
